केन्द्रीय मूगा एरी अनुसंधान एवं प्रशिक्षण संस्थान Central Muga Eri Research & Training Institute Lahdoigarh – 785 700, Jorhat, Assam

Service

Three services the institute performs for people who are not part of it: a forewarning calendar that tells a rearer which disease is due and when to act, soil testing for seri-farmers across the North East, and laboratory, library and residential facilities open to students and visiting workers. Extension carries the technology out; these are the standing services a cultivator, a student or a visiting scientist can come and ask for.

  • Disease Forewarning & Forecasting

Season-wise calendars for som diseases, stem borer, silkworm disease and uzi, each with the control measure and the window in which it works.

  • Soil Health Card

Soil analysis for seri-farmers in six North Eastern states, from the Soil Science & Agro-Chemistry Laboratory at Lahdoigarh.

  • Infrastructure

Laboratories, library, museum, video conference room, training hall and hostel, and the residential complex at Cinnamara.

The science behind the forewarning calendars is set out under Research — Host Plant Diseases, Silkworm Diseases and Insect Pests & Predators. This page is the service; those pages are the work it rests on.
